Bell officials are hoping that customers in St. John’s will see an improvement in cell service by the end of the month.
Service was severely affected by a series of deliberately-set fires back in July.
Thirty-year-old Patrick Donald Greer has been charged with arson in connection with a number of those fires. He’s scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday on five counts of arson, five counts of damage to property and three counts of break and enter with intent.
Bell says construction is underway on a new wireless site to improve connectivity in the downtown and west end of the city.
The company says the new site will include additional spectrum bands and enhanced network capability to improve coverage in the affected area.
