Premier Tony Wakeham has committed to bringing the final Churchill Falls agreements to the House of Assembly for another debate.

The legislature is currently open for a special debate on the new MOU – however definitive final agreements have yet to be signed. That is expected to be done by the end of the year.

During Question Period last night, in response to questions from opposition leader John Hogan, Wakeham confirmed that the definitive agreements will be brought back to the floor of the House.

He quoted former premier Andrew Furey’s closing remarks from the 2025 debate in which he said definitive agreements would be brought to the legislature, and says “we will do the same.”
