A joint squad of police have busted a drug operation on the west coast.

The RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation seized drugs, weapons and items consistent with drug trafficking after searching two separate residences.

Police raided a house in Islandview Heights in Deer Lake and another on a camp road near Humber Valley Resort.

Specifically, they found a quantity of cocaine and pills, firearms and ammunition, large quantities of currency and silver, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

Chad Cassell, who’s 44, was arrested without incident and charged with two counts of trafficking.

He was released to appear in December.
