With such strong winds, there is always a chance that utility poles could be toppled and power lines could fall to the ground.
If someone encounters such a situation, spokesperson Glenda Power says people should keep their distance.
She says people should always assume power lines are energized, and to stay the length of a school bus away. Power says anyone who sees a downed power line or cracked utility pole should call 1-800-474-5711 to report it.
