Memorial University says it’s developing a strategic plan to address dropping enrollment rates.
The institution has been grappling with a decline in student numbers over the past few years, caused in part by federal immigration changes.
MUN President Janet Morrison says there are 2,000 fewer students at MUN this semester compared to previous years.

Dr. Jennifer Lokash outlined in the MUN Gazette this week that the university plans to develop a management plan to set an enrollment target, improve recruitment outcomes, and create better accountability measures.
Lokash says the project will speak to several groups and departments at the university.
The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers has been commissioned to do the work at a cost of nearly $200,000.
