Over $23-million has been set aside from all three levels of government for water and sewer upgrades throughout the province.
The funding was announced in Mount Pearl yesterday.
Over $5-million has been allocated for that city to help with water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure along Holden Street, which is part of phase one of the Kenmount Hill Development.
The provincial government says that project will support over 430 existing homes, as well as pave the way for over 1,300 new ones.
Mayor Dave Aker says the work will likely begin next spring.
