A 26-year-old man was arrested for impaired after RCMP in Gander received reports of a driver colliding with parked vehicles early Saturday morning.

Police were called to Bennett Drive in Gander around 4:00 Saturday morning after someone struck a number of parked vehicles on a lot, and left the scene.

Officers located the vehicle involved and noticed signs of impairment in the driver.

Police say a breath sample was provided that was more than twice the legal limit.

The driver was charged with impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and damage to property over $5,000.
