Police are investigating after a situation unfolded in Mount Pearl Friday evening.
A heavy police presence turned attention to an area of Emerald Drive around 5:30 p.m.
Reports to the VOCM News indicate that gunshots were heard in the area.
The RNC says they confirmed damage to a house and vehicle after a firearm was discharged.
Residents indicate that officers were going door to door seeking surveillance footage.
