Swimmers will soon be splashing around in the waters of the Aquarena pool once again.
The provincial government will be providing $400,000, and Memorial University will be providing $200,000 to reopen the facility for the first time since the shutdown in March.

Premier Andrew Furey called the facility an important fixture in his life for many years, saying it’s “more than just a pool, it’s a community.”
The announcement means swimming organizations—such as the Legends Swim Club—will be able resume practice in a regulation length pool.
