The university will continue to operate in a mostly remote setting through the winter 2021 semester.
The decision was made following a special meeting of the university senate yesterday.
The Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, and School of Pharmacy, will continue to make their own plans as it relates to necessary in-person instruction.
The vice-president (academic) Dr. Mark Abrahams, says the university will be in communication with students. As well, other academic units can submit requests to bring students on campus when necessary this winter.
Memorial's top priority is to ensure the safety of the entire Memorial community. Therefore, most in-person, on-campus courses will not resume before May 2021. #COVID19 https://t.co/rWuZAVvonf

The School of Music is looking at a hybrid approach for the winter of 2021 but any unit planning on seeking exemptions would have to have a contingency plan in case they have to shut down so that the opportunities for students aren’t compromised.
Students will be contacted by each department directly when decisions are made.
