It’s anticipated that all eligible riders will be back on the school bus by the end of the week.
The school year began with about 6,000 students across the province having to find their own transportation to and from, but the school board and their contractors have acquired an additional 145 busses and added about 200 runs.
Education Minister Tom Osbourne commends all in the system who worked on adding capacity after the board found out in mid-August that the number of kids allowed on a bus had been drastically reduced.
The Minister remains cautious as you never know what may happen; for instance, two buses in Grand Falls-Windsor caught fire.
