The Finance Minister has been asked to self-monitor and get a COVID test after spending time at the Holiday Inn in Deer Lake.
The hotel is linked to the province’s most recent case of COVID-19 – a health care worker who was travelling from Saskatchewan to Happy Valley-Goose Bay via Deer Lake.
Siobhan Coady, who presented her first budget in the House of Assembly today, spoke with reporters from all local media outlets in the budget lock-in before heading to the legislature.
The Department of Finance says the minister does not have to self-isolate, but is being asked to get a test.
The department says she is showing no symptoms and the risk to the public is low.
