Nearly $80,000 has been raised for healthcare initiatives in the Clarenville and Bonavista area.

The Discovery Health Care Foundation radiothon was held earlier today in partnership with VOCM Cares.

In total, $77,250 was raised, which includes a $50,000 donation from the province.

The money will go towards the needs of healthcare facilities in the region.

One such project is a five-year initiative to raise $500,000 towards the Mental Health Project in Bonavista and the Bonavista Peninsula Health Care centre’s emergency room area.
