The federal minister of seniors says she has received positive feedback from those on the ground in this province in regards to support for seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deb Schulte recently participated in a virtual town hall focusing on seniors issues throughout the province.
Issues covered included mental well-being and isolation during the pandemic, family doctor access, long-term care regulations and more.
Shulte says she received a lot of positive feedback from workers on the ground who are helping to administer programs and services to seniors in this province. However, she notes more can be done.
She says the biggest focus for the Federal Government right now is addressing the immediate needs created by COVID-19, such as by allocating resources for long term care homes when there’s an outbreak and getting needed vaccines to seniors.
