After 24 years at the helm of the province’s nurses’ union, Debbie Forward delivered her final address to members at the union’s biennial convention this morning.
Forward is also retiring from the nursing profession itself after a 40-year career.
She told VOCM this morning that it’s a bittersweet time for her, but she’s satisfied with the work done to date.
She says she’s proud of the role she has played in strengthening and positioning the union for success into the future.
Forward will remain president until the end of the year when she will be succeeded by incoming president Yvette Coffey.
