Newfoundland and Labrador has one new confirmed case of COVID-19. It involves a man in his 50s in the Eastern Health region.
Public Health says the man recently returned to the province from work in British Columbia. The man is isolating, and contact tracing is underway.
As result, officials are asking passengers on board Air Canada Flight 8996 from Halifax to St. John’s on Thursday, November 19 to call 811 and arrange for testing.
Even if the test result is negative, Public Health is asking all passengers to continue monitoring for symptoms for a full 14 days from their time of arrival.
Starting today, all essential travel to Newfoundland and Labrador requires the completion of a new travel form that can be submitted online up to 30 days before travel. All travellers are expected to complete the form, which can be found at this link.
The province’s travel ban remains in effect.
There are 33 active cases in Newfoundland and Labrador. Four new recoveries since yesterday have bumped the provincial total to 302 recoveries. No one is currently in hospital due to the virus.
