Paid in full. The minister responsible for industry, Andrew Parsons, tweeted out the remittance from Canopy Growth this morning.
It shows that the $1.9-million owed to the province by Canopy was paid today.
The marijuana grow company is moving on even before it opened its doors in St. John’s, leaving 14 people out of work.
As well, 145 promised jobs will not materialize.
Just posting as an FYI – copies attached of the repayment from Canopy Growth received last evening (ahead of schedule). Sad to see a business not make it, but taxpayers should know it did not cost them a cent. These facts are important. @IET_GovNL @FIN_GovNL @SiobhanCoadyNL pic.twitter.com/IM0P5Ts5PX
