A man accused in the stabbing death of his father appeared in provincial court in St. John’s through video-conference this morning.

Brandon Noftall, 26, stands accused of second-degree murder in connection with the killing of 41-year-old Robert Noftall in the Southern Shore town of Renews on December 18.

Noftall is also accused of assaulting a woman in the case, as well as breaches of conditions, including one that prohibited him from carrying a knife.

Noftall remains in custody at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary pending his next court appearance on January 5.
