Premier Andrew Furey is sending his well-wishes for a Merry Christmas and a happier new year. In his year-end message, the Premier highlighted the resilience of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians in the face adversity, as well as the drive to make change for the better.
He says it’s important to spend quality time with loved ones in quiet times of reflection, adding he has no doubt the new year will bring exciting prospects for growth and innovation toward shaping a brighter future for the province.
PC Opposition Leader Ches Crosbie echoed Premier Furey’s remarks, expressing optimism for the year ahead. He says the province has been through a tough year but adds residents can look forward to better times.
Meanwhile, NDP Leader Alison Coffin shared a similar sentiment for the Christmas season and the new year.
She expressed her wish that everyone will be able to surround themselves with all the people and things that provide the comfort and the strength to wash away all of the stress and difficulties that came with 2020.
