Elections NL says more resources have been added to support the process since the change was made late Friday to vote exclusively by special ballot.
A local call centre is now fielding calls. Elections NL says anyone who called to request a voting kit can expect a return phone call within a few days.

Elections NL says 16 people are working from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. answering calls. Staff at headquarters are returning messages left by voters.
A political science professor at Memorial University says they really need some clarity from the Chief Electoral Officer. Kelly Blidook says it would be better if Bruce Chaulk did a live briefing every day or two instead of several interviews a day.
He notes that the agency has been taken to court in the past on special ballots and lost.
He was referring to the 2011 election Burin-Placentia West where NDP Julie Mitchell went to court. Clyde Jackman remained MHA because the courts did not decide on the matter until 2017 but provisions of the special balloting process were changed.
