Canada Post says it’s working closely with Elections NL to ensure the mail-in ballot process runs smoothly.
The federal agency declined an interview but said in a statement to VOCM News that they appreciate the important role they play in the provincial election.
Canada Post says it’s providing logistical support and advice while proactively monitoring mailings, and planning for any potential issues.
They say that work has been ongoing throughout the election, adding they are prepared to support the latest change to mail-in ballots only.
Canada Post has experience with the process, citing support provided during recent elections in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and British Columbia.

Canada Post has extensive experience in securely delivering large, national and regional mailings. As well, while each election is different, we take the same collaborative approach with election officials across the country. In 2020, we supported provincial elections in New Brunswick, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, as well as numerous by-elections at the municipal, provincial and federal level.
