A Shearstown man is facing a list of serious charges after a search of a home uncovered dozens of firearms, cannabis, illegal tobacco, and cash.
Police arrested 38-year-old Thomas Earle on Tuesday morning following a search of the residence.
Among the items located were two restricted handguns, 14 non-restricted firearms, ammo, cannabis, prescription drugs, unstamped tobacco, and what police call a large amount of cash.
Officers charged Earle with several firearms offenses—including unauthorized possession, careless storage, and failing to report the loss of a restricted firearm—possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possessing unstamped tobacco, and for the proceeds of crime in excess of $5,000.
He was held overnight for court and was released today on conditions.
The investigation continues, and the RCMP expects additional charges to be laid against others.
