A 33-year-old man has been arrested for suspected drug-impaired driving and his 34-year-old passenger has been ticketed following a traffic stop in Holyrood earlier this week.
Monday morning an off-duty RCMP officer noticed a strong smell of marijuana while driving behind a pickup truck towing a snowmobile trailer.
The officer reported the information to the detachment and police located the truck and trailer a few minutes later in Holyrood and pulled them over.
Open cannabis inside the truck belonged to an occupant who was issued a ticket. The driver, meanwhile, completed a drug influence evaluation and officers are awaiting the results to determine if charges will be laid.
