A man was charged with drunk driving after a dramatic single-vehicle crash in Paradise overnight.
Emergency crews were called to a stretch of Topsail Road near Sgt. Donald Lucas Drive shortly after midnight.
The driver of a full-size pickup truck had lost control, leaving the road and snapping off a utility pole.
Skid marks on the road indicate the driver started losing control of the vehicle while heading west. The truck then traveled over 200 metres before leaving the road and rolling over after striking a pole skidding across the front lawn of a home.
The truck came to rest on its roof across the sidewalk.
The 22 year-old driver was uninjured but charged with impaired driving.
Crews with Newfoundland Power were called to assess damage to the pole.
