Over $50-million in funding has been announced for 26 infrastructure projects across Newfoundland and Labrador.
The provincial and federal governments are each contributing $25-million, while another $2-million is coming from the communities.
The projects include a new armour stone wall that will restore the shoreline on Harbour Road in Witless Bay, a new HVAC system at the College of the North Atlantic in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, and funding to improve the Trans-Labrador Highway near Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
The MP for the Long Range Mountains, Gudie Hutchings says the drinking water systems in 12 municipalities will be updated.
She points to Glenburnie-Birchy Head-Shoal Brook as an example. She says the Long Range Mountains come right down to the shoreline, so drinking water upgrades are a priority.
