The House of Assembly is adjourned for the summer today, a week earlier than expected.
The Legislature had been scheduled to sit until June 30, but with the budget and other pressing legislation passed, Lieutenant Governor Judy Foote was in-House today to give the bills her Royal Assent.
While the three party leaders described this sitting as productive, the Opposition did take issue with government dropping news of Nalcor being swallowed up by NL Hydro at the last minute.
They acknowledged calls and recommendations to make that move, but they say it’s troubling that no analysis is available to publicly critique it.
Gov says it was coincidental that Greene report included recommendation to scrap Nalcor. @VOCMNEWS

Both the Tories and NDP say that flies in the face of assurances of a full public accounting and consultation on such major policy decisions.
Barring an emergency sitting of the House over the summer, MHAs are due back in their seats on October 18.
