A 34-year-old Marysvale man has been remanded to custody pending a bail hearing set for Monday on a number of charges.
Matthew Scott was arrested and taken into custody on Wednesday after an effort from police officers from Bay Roberts, Harbour Grace and Holyrood Detachments, as well as General Investigation Section East, RCMP negotiators, Police Dog Services and the RCMP Emergency Response Team. A portion of the Marysvale Road was closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon before Scott was taken into custody.
He’s facing a number of charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, operating a vehicle while prohibited, failing to comply with outstanding arrest warrants, and violating multiple court-ordered conditions related to previous assaults and break-in charges.
