High water temperatures and low water levels have resulted in restrictions to angling on a number of salmon rivers in the southern Avalon and Placentia Bay areas.
DFO says some rivers in zones 9 and 10 are now restricted to morning angling only.
Angling is only allowed from one hour before sunrise to 10:00 a.m. each day, and rivers will be closed to angling from 10:00 a.m. to one hour before sunrise the following day.
The rivers include Branch River in St. Mary’s Bay, Great Barasway, South East River, Northeast River, Come By Chance River, North Harbour River, and Piper’s Hole among others.
