The active number of cases of COVID-19 remains in the single digits as Newfoundland and Labrador reports another day with no new cases and no new recoveries.
Just seven active cases are being reported across the province. That includes three in Eastern Health, one in Central Health, one in Labrador-Grenfell Health, and two in Western Health. One person is currently in hospital in connection with the virus.
The last positive test result was announced over the long weekend. Since the start of June, the active caseload in this province has seen a steady decline.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health says the investigation into the Western cluster has come to an end. No source of infection has been determined, but officials state that the risk to the public is believed to be low.
As of today’s update, 158,584 people have been tested for COVID-19 in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Over 77 per cent of NL’s eligible population have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while about 14 per cent have received both doses.
