A Marysvale man facing 26 charges following his arrest by swarms of police last week has a bail hearing scheduled for today.
The operation to apprehend 34-year-old Matthew Scott included RCMP from Bay Roberts, Harbour Grace and Holyrood, as well as police negotiators, a K-9 unit and Emergency Response Team.
A portion of the Marysvale Road was closed to traffic last Wednesday as they descended on Scott, who was previously known to police. In 2016 he was charged with armed robbery of the Sunset Motel in Kelligrews.
Scott now faces charges related to drugs, guns, break-ins, driving and violent assaults. His bail hearing is scheduled for this morning in Harbour Grace.
