Disney is coming to Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Walt Disney Company is going to film a portion of the major motion picture Peter Pan and Wendy. The provincial government will provide a 30 per cent rebate on production costs, up to $3-million but it estimates that expenditures in the province will be up to $9-million.

A cast and crew of about 150, including local technicians, artists, and film workers will be working this summer to film the live-action adventure fantasy film. Filming will take place throughout the month of August in several locations on the island.
Executive director with the Film Corporation, Dorian Rowe, says filming will take place in the Trinity and Southern Shore areas. Right now they’re looking at filming in or around the first two weeks in August, but the exact dates will be dependant on a number of factors, including weather.
Premier Andrew Furey says this will create international recognition for the province as a shooting location for future film and television productions.
