The RNC is investigating an assault on an east end walking trail in the capital city.
On the evening of Tuesday, June 29, police were called to a home in the east end of St. John’s. A young female was reportedly assaulted by a male on the Virginia River walking trail between Labrador Place and Carrick Drive at around 9 p.m.
The victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The suspect is described as being about 18 years old, about six feet tall, with light coloured hair in a buzz cut. He was wearing a red basketball jersey at the time of the incident.
Police say the suspect was not known to the victim. Investigators are asking the public to report any suspicious activity in the area to the RNC.
