A man charged with a murder on Craigmillar Avenue one year ago today has been returned to this province to answer to the charges.
Forty-four-year-old Kurt Churchill was arrested last week in Toronto where he made an initial court appearance.
The RNC said he would be brought back to the province as soon as possible but it was not clear when.
VOCM News has learned that Churchill was escorted back to St. John’s late Friday night and made a brief court appearance Saturday morning.
He’s due back in court on Thursday for an update on the status of the case.
Churchill is charged with the second-degree murder of 47-year-old Jamie Cody, as well as numerous firearms offences.
Police have said Churchill and Cody were known to each other, with both previously charged with drug trafficking.
