Border restrictions across the country are beginning to ease, and while many are anxious to start travelling again, there is still some hesitation.
Derek Windsor of E&B Travel says his phone is ringing more now than it has been over the last 15 months, and while a lot of people are still hesitant, he believes the pent-up demand is significant.
He attributes that to airlines reducing the number of flights coming in and out of the province, but he hopes that flights will be increased as demand goes up, making the province more accessible.
As far as the cruise ship industry goes, Windsor says people are booking cruises – but mostly for mid-2022 and beyond.
He says even though the industry is prepared to “set sail” this fall, people aren’t jumping on it just yet.
