A man from CBS arrested in a high-risk takedown two weeks ago has waived his right to a bail hearing.
34-year-old Matthew Scott faces almost 30 serious charges following his arrest by teams of police in Marysvale on June 23.
The operation included RCMP from Bay Roberts, Harbour Grace and Holyrood, as well as police negotiators, a K-9 unit and Emergency Response Team.
A portion of the Marysvale Road was closed to traffic as they descended on Scott, who is well-known to police. In 2016 he was charged with armed robbery of the Sunset Motel in Kelligrews.
Scott now faces charges related to drugs, guns, break-ins, driving offences and violent assaults.
In Harbour Grace provincial court this morning, he agreed to remain in custody until his next court date on July 22.
That’s when he’s expected to plead guilty to some charges as part of an agreement with the Crown.
