It’s been a little over a year since police dog Stella joined the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary.
Stella’s handler, Constable Krista Fagan, says having Stella as part of the force has been phenomenal so far.
Fagan says it’s been a busy year with a lot of community visits. She says Stella has become far more socialized.
Stella has been exposed to new environments, people, noises, scents, and sounds.
This November, Constable Fagan and Stella will be travelling to Columbus, Ohio to get Stella certified. Once she is certified, Stella will be utilized in interviews with children who are victims of crime, she will also help out with the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Response Team.
Stella has also been very active on social media over the past year. Fagan says it warms her heart to see the messages Stella receives every day.
