Ten confirmed cases are now linked to a recent public gathering in the metro region and Public Health officials are continuing to monitor for more possible cases.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says there were a number of both formal and informal larger gatherings in the Eastern Health region where there were exposures to the COVID virus.
She says because the full two-week incubation period has not yet passed, more cases may be possible.
She says more COVID testing is carried out toward the end of the two-week incubation window, “so we’ll see what the next few days bring.”
Public Health officials say there are no known COVID cases linked to the George Street Festival.
