A Carbonear family is overwhelmed with the outpouring of support after over $19,000 dollars was raised during a special fundraiser for a 5-year-old girl who is facing a significant health challenge.
Trinity Ellsworth, the daughter of Edwin and Tammy Ellsworth of Carbonear was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour. Her dad Edwin is a member of the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department and members decided to put together a barbeque and carwash in the TC Square parking lot yesterday afternoon to help raise money for the family.
Wanda Garland of the Carbonear Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary says they were overwhelmed with the support, not just from the public, but from neighbouring fire departments as well.
Garland says the family has seen the support pour in.
