Hibernia Management and Development Company is reporting an incident on board the Hibernia platform, which resulted in injuries to a worker.

The incident occurred on September 15.

The C-NLOPB says the worker was working above a hot water tank when a pressure gauge separated from the flange, causing the hot water to make contact with the worker’s left side.

The worker was escorted to the platform’s medical centre, and was later transferred back to shore for further medical treatment.

HMDC has launched an investigation into the root cause of the incident, which the offshore regulator is monitoring.
