The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating after a sudden death at HMP last week.
Police were called to the Penitentiary shortly before midnight on Wednesday, September 15.
The Department of Justice says the inmate was found unresponsive in his cell and was rushed to hospital where he died on Sunday.
The cause of death, and the age of the deceased inmate, has not been released.
The Department of Justice says a full review will be conducted to examine all circumstances surrounding the death, including staff response and the appropriateness of related polices and procedures.
