The emergency room at the Lewisporte Hospital is not currently able to provide in-person service due to a temporary physician shortage.

Central Health is telling patients to proceed to an alternate facility with emergency room services.

In the meantime, Central is providing virtual ER services.

There is no indication how long the interruption in service will last.
