A 19-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving after being caught driving at shockingly high speed.
RCMP officers parked on the side of the Trans Canada near Square Pond observed a car Saturday around 10 p.m. driving at excessive speed. The radar reading showed the car traveling at 189 km/h.
The vehicle was located and stopped turning into Gander by another officer who was notified.
The driver was ticketed for speeding, his licence was suspended and the car was seized and impounded.
He’s scheduled to appear in Gander court December 14th on a charge of dangerous driving.
