There’s a “dire need” for more foster parents in Newfoundland and Labrador and it’s hoped that the awareness created by Foster Families Month will help to bring more eligible families forward.
Minister of Children Seniors and Social Development, John Abbott joined the Foster Families Association this morning for the official proclamation of Foster Families Month.
He says they’re working to recruit more foster families with the help of the Foster Families Association to meet the need in child protection services.
He says the association has the resources to support foster parents, which is critical for what can, at times, be a very difficult job.
