Corner Brook’s new city council will be sworn in later today during a rare Sunday session at City Hall.
The event begins at 3:00 p.m. with the official council photo and swearing-in ceremony.
That’ll be followed by the new council’s first public meeting at 4:30 p.m., which will include the election of the deputy mayor.
The public meeting will also be live-streamed on the city’s Facebook page.
Jim Parsons was returned to the mayor’s chair in last week’s election, along with councillors Linda Chaisson, Pam Gill, Vaughn Granter, Bill Griffin, Pam Keeping and former mayor Charles Pender.
