2020-21 was a tough year for Atlantic Lottery, but the corporation is on track for record profits this year.
The money generated by ALC is distributed to the Atlantic provinces for use as general government revenue.
ALC released its annual report and financial results for 2020-21 yesterday.
Public Health measures imposed as a result of the pandemic had an impact on retailers and employees, but they still managed to return $346.5 million dollars to the four Atlantic provinces.
CEO Patrick Daigle says revenue was down as a result of the pandemic.
He says they managed to generate $94 million dollars for Newfoundland and Labrador, down from the $121 million generated the previous year.
The drop in revenue was mainly due to lockdown measures imposed in the early part of the pandemic, but Daigle says revenue generated for Newfoundland and Labrador this year is already hitting and surpassing financial targets.
