The province is providing some clarity around the number of healthcare workers in the province who have been fully vaccinated.
Health Minister John Haggie says those numbers are hard to give because of the way that information is collected. He explains that such information is based on how people self-identify when the question is asked while getting the vaccine.
Haggie does state, however, that estimates can be formed based on how that data compares to other numbers.
What they do know, he says, is that there are roughly 20,000 healthcare workers throughout the regional health authorities, and so far 32,000 people who have received the vaccine have identified as being in that field. He says the unknown is how many of those with the vaccine work outside of the RHAs.
