The family of a Newfoundland man who died after losing a hiking trail in BC is marking the one-year anniversary of his passing with a special tribute.
Jordan Naterer was first reported overdue from a hiking trip following the Thanksgiving long weekend last year.
An extensive search effort was launched, covering a large area of terrain. Last June, Naterer’s campsite and belongings were found, eight months after being reported missing.
Now, Naterer’s family has unveiled a special plaque in his memory along the Sugarloaf Trail in St. John’s.
In a post on Twitter, Jordan’s father Greg Naterer says the plaque has been put in a spot overlooking the ocean where the family used to hike together.
He says sunshine reflects and illuminates the plaque because “Jordan’s spirit shines like a star.”
