The provincial government has announced details of its new Small Business Assistance Program.
The $20-million in funding is designed to help strengthen and support business and community organizations that have been impacted by COVID-19.
First announced in Budget 2021, the program provides financial relief with a one-time, non-repayable contribution of $2,500, $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000 as outlined in the eligibility guidelines.
More than 4,000 businesses and community organizations received approval for assistance under the previous program. The new one will be expanded to include start-up firms, which were registered as companies in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Support is available on a first-come, first-served basis with a closing date of December 15, or earlier if all funds are exhausted.
Program details, eligibility requirements and information on the application process can be found on the government’s website.
