The Mount Pearl-Paradise Chamber of Commerce has launched its new shop-local campaign, which will give shoppers the opportunity to win and spend $10,000 at participating businesses in the region.
Known as Buy here, B’y, the initiative aims to support small businesses, which make up such a crucial part of the local economy.
Keith Power, the face and spokesperson for the new campaign, says it’s designed to “tap into a younger market and have a bit of fun.”
Mount Pearl Mayor Dave Aker says small businesses are the lifeblood of the community and the mom and pop operation is the glue that keeps the city together.
