TechNL has recognized a number of local tech firms as part of its inaugural Tech Industry Awards held yesterday.
Verafin, which late last year was formally acquired by Nasdaq in a $2.75 billion dollar US deal, was named Tech Company of the Year.
The Champion of Youth Award went to ClearRisk.
The Women in Tech Advocate Award went to Sequence Bio, the Community Leadership Award went to Bluedrop Learning Networks, while Startup of the Year went to Milk Moovement.
Dan Brake of Sequence Bio says they’re proud of their reputation in supporting women in the tech sector.
He says in the local tech industry, 23 per cent of the workforce are women, but at Sequence Bio, that percentage is 52 per cent.
THAT’S A WRAP! Thank you to all who came out to #IWNL21, thanks to all who made this week possible, and congratulations to all the winners in our first Industry Awards Night! #techNL pic.twitter.com/r344yxXIvi
